NEW BCBSM RIDER

There’s a new BCBSM rider for groups with 2 or more contracts to increase
your Preventative Services benefits to $1000.

The rider would increase your premium by about $3.00 to $5.00/ Single
contract.

All other benefits would have to be part of the BCBSM “
standard menu” --not
older benefits that have been grand- fathered in—in order to add this to your
coverage.

If you’re interested now, please give us a call or we can look into it at your
Annual Rate Renewal.
Is it really an emergency?
Most of the time, the answer is “NO”

In television dramas, it seems that all health care is given in the emergency
room. In real life, emergency room treatment is usually not necessary.

But you don’t have to worry about being covered for true emergencies. In fact,
you’re covered for two different kinds of emergency care: medical emergency
care and emergency first aid.

Medical emergency care is treatment of a sudden, unexpected condition that
produces severe signs and symptoms such as acute pain. Examples are heart
attacks, strokes, loss of consciousness, severe breathing difficulty and
convulsions.

Emergency first aid is the examination is the examination and treatment of an
injury caused by an accident or trauma. Examples are broken bones, sprains,
allergic reactions, frostbite, poisoning and medication overdoses.

Other situations, such as a sore throat, chronic back pain or an upset
stomach, may seem urgent, but are not usually considered “emergencies.”
People with these conditions can get the treatment they need in an urgent
care clinic or their doctor’s office.
